Watch: Japan's Prime Minister falls head over heels on golf course as President Trump walks on unaware

November 10, 2017

A drone caught the moment as the two world leaders played a casual round of golf on Sunday in Japan.

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been caught falling head over heals into a sand bunker during a casual round of golf with President Donald Trump, who was unaware of the situation that had unfolded behind him.

Mr Abe can be seen walking up the sand bunker before misplacing his step and balance which causes him to take a tumble.

Mr Trump continues to walk ahead of Mr Abe and didn't know he had fallen.

Both the leaders tweeted about their day out at the Kasumigaseki Country Club on Sunday, with Mr Trump tweeting a video of himself whacking a golf ball.

"Playing golf with Prime Minister Abe and Hideki Matsyama, two wonderful people!' he wrote.

Along with a photo of the pair, Mr Abe tweeted, "Golf and great friends. Atmosphere invites stimulating conversation. A round of golf with a marvelous friend, full of spirited conversation."
