A female railway station cleaner in Hong Kong has been shoved onto train tracks by a passing man in a horrific unprovoked attack.
Shocking CCTV footage of the incident, which took place on Saturday, shows the 59-year-old cleaner standing on the station platform waiting for a train as a man walks casually behind her.
Without warning the man then forcefully shoves the woman onto the tracks before quickly leaving the scene as she lays sprawled on the tracks.
Fortunately no trains were arriving at the station during the incident and the woman escaped with her life.
"The woman suffered injuries to her jaw and was sent to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment," a police spokeswoman told the South China Morning Post.
The South China Morning Post also reported that a 56-year-old man was arrested near the station for allegedly pushing the woman.
