Watch: Bored BBC presenter severely unimpressed with royal baby due date announcement - 'Not sure how much news this really is'

October 18, 2017

A BBC presenter was less than impressed when announcing some "breaking news" from Kensington Palace about the due date of Prince William and Kate's third royal baby.

Simon McCoy's sarcastic and droll delivery of the news yesterday has quickly gone viral, with many people praising his honest approach on social media.

"Their royal highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they're expecting a baby in April," McCoy began the piece, before growing visibly bored with it.

"Now bearing in mind they announced the pregnancy back in September and she was about two or three months pregnant then, I'm not sure how much news this really is."

The presenter then stepped it up a gear, making a sarcastic joke about keeping yourself free in April for the impending birth.

"Anyway it's April so clear your diaries, get the time booked off, cos that's what I'm doing," McCoy said before letting out a sigh.

The BBC presenter made the news earlier this year when he was also not happy about having to report on a dog surfing contest in California.
