Amazing helicopter footage has captured the moment a large group of sharks feast on bait fish just off the shoreline of a Queensland beach.
The footage was shot from a Nine News helicopter over Queensland's picturesque North Stradbroke Island yesterday.
Local resident Barry Miall told Nine News he has seen large shark swarms near the beach in the past.
"I think it's an annual event when the bait fish come in close and when the water starts to get cold," Mr Miall said.
Despite the number of sharks in the area there has only been one recorded fatal shark attack in the waters off North Stradbroke Island.
