A machete-wielding woman was caught on film by other shoppers as she tried to rob a Sydney supermarket.
A 31-year-old woman was confronted by staff members after she allegedly began stealing items from a counter at a Woolworths in Neutral Bay.
After being challenged, Nine News reported that she produced a machete and threatened a young male attendant before attempting to flee.
She was chased down by two other shoppers, who held her until police arrived.
A man named Nick filmed the incident, then gave chase with another person.
"I grabbed her from behind, in a big bear hug and lifted her from the ground as much as I can," he told the Today show.
"He ran in from the right hand side and grabbed both of her hands."
The woman will appear in court later today on a range of violence and weapons charges.
