The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed her struggles with becoming a mother, saying it is "lonely" and feels "isolated" at times.

Kate Middleton shared her emotions about motherhood yesterday while speaking at a new west London school that has included mental health well being classes in its curriculum, according to the Daily Mail

Her comments comes days after Prince Harry revealed for the first time that losing his mother when he was only 12 left him in emotional turmoil for 20 years, filling him with grief and rage he could only manage after he sought counselling after suffering multiple breakdowns.

During a conversation with two mothers who co-founded an app called Mush, which aims to connect new mothers together, Kate said, "It is lonely at times and you do feel quite isolated, but actually so many other mothers are going through exactly what you are going through".

"It is being brave enough, like you obviously were, to reach out to those around you," the Duchess said.

This week, Prince William released a video with pop singer Lady Gaga, who speaks about her struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The conversation is part of the latest blitz by the young royals as they campaign to end the stigma associated with mental health issues.

Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, along with his brother, Prince Harry, have made mental health a focus of their charitable work.
