Emergency services in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates closed down four lanes of a large highway in the city to save a tiny, scared kitten.
The small black kitten was stranded in the centre of an eight-lane road near Sheikh Zayed Street overnight, the Khaleej Times reported.
Three fire trucks were used to halt traffic before firefighters proceeded on foot to save the kitten.
Video of the incident posted online shows a firefighter deftly grasping the kitten and taking it to safety.
A spokesperson from the city's Civil Defence department said the teams take both humanitarian and animal welfare seriously.
