Unsuspecting new parents caught up in Royal baby hoopla outside hospital

An average English couple got a small snapshot of Royal life with their new baby after leaving the London hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was in labour.

The world’s media was waiting outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital last night (NZ time), eagerly anticipating the first shots of the Duke and Duchess with their third child, when an unsuspecting couple walked out with their baby.

ABC News foreign correspondent James Longman tweeted an entertaining picture of the new parents as they posed for photos.  

The couple were given an ovation – and photos to prove the amusing tale in the years to come - by the huge media contingent.
