UK records lowest daily Covid-19 death toll since lockdown

May 18, 2020

But the numbers are still grim: 170 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The UK has recorded it lowest daily death toll for Covid-19 since its lockdown began.

In the past 24 hours, 170 people have died with the virus, bringing the national total to more than 34,000.

It comes as authorities pledged nearly $170 million towards vaccine research.

If the vaccine is successful, the brand will work to make 30 million doses available by September for the UK as part of an agreement for over 100 million doses total. The UK will be first to get access.
