Uganda's president wants to ban oral sex - 'The mouth is for eating'

April 19, 2018

Uganda's president has blamed "outsiders" for promoting oral sex in his country and says he wants to ban the practice.

President Yoweri Museveni, who signed a law making homosexuality illegal in Uganda in 2014, says the mouth is for eating, not for sex.

"Let me take this opportunity to warn our people publicly about the wrong practices indulged in and promoted by some of the outsiders," Mr Museveni told a press conference.

"One of them is what they call oral sex. The mouth is for eating, not for sex."

Britain's Daily Mail reports the Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2014 act made it illegal to be gay in Uganda and citizens risk life imprisonment if found to be having regular gay sex.

The act also made failure to report someone for being gay a crime.

After introducing the law in 2014, Mr Museveni said oral sex could cause people to get worms.
