Theresa May proves immune to merciless mocking as she does some more 'dad dancing' on African tour

August 31, 2018

British Prime Minister Theresa May this morning became the first UK leader to visit Kenya in 30 years, bringing security and development funding to East Africa's commercial hub and neighboring Somalia as Britain seeks to boost economic ties ahead of a bumpy exit from the European Union in March.

May met with President Uhuru Kenyatta on the last stop of her three-country Africa tour, which also included South Africa and Nigeria, the continent's top economies.

On Thursday, the UK leader met with business leaders at a business delegation event in Kenya, where she spoke on stage alongside Kenyatta.

During the final day of her trade visit she also managed to show off her dance moves while visiting a United Nations scout project in Nairobi, after her first display at a secondary school in South Africa on Tuesday.

The prime minister was travelling with a large business delegation as Britain wants to push its trade with Africa beyond the 31 billion pounds (40.2 billion US dollars) registered last year.

It’s fair to say the Breakfast crew weren’t that impressed with her dancing.

No British leader had visited Kenya since Margaret Thatcher, and this is the first visit by a British prime minister to Africa in five years.
