Swarm of bats invade Queensland town, outnumber residents

Residents in the Queensland town of Ingham are taking action after hundreds of thousands of bats have descended on the region.

Bats now outnumber residents in the Australian town and have caused chaos after the problems caused by their smell and noise, the BBC reports.

Locals have approached the council however the the bats are protected by law and cannot be culled.

Local authorities now say they are trying to "persuade" the bats to move back to their habitat.
