Shouting match leads to punch-up in Armenian parliament

May 9, 2020

Scuffles erupted between members of Armenia's National Assembly on Friday.

The brawl between deputies started with a shouting match between the member of opposition Bright Armenia Party, Edmon Marukyan, and the leader of the My Step party, Sasun Mikaelyan.

The parliament session was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who later condemned the act of violence saying that it intended to weaken the trust of people towards his political majority.
