Seven people, including two Britons, wounded in Paris knife attack - report

September 10, 2018

Seven people have been wounded in a knife attack outside a cinema in Paris today.

Local media reported that a man stabbed up to seven people on the Quai de la Loire in the 19th Arrondisement before being arrested by police.

Sky News says Britain's Foreign Office says: "It was aware of reports in the French media that two Britons were among those targeted, but offered no further information."

The man was armed with a knife and an iron bar over the attack, Channel News Asia reports.

Authorities are still trying to determine if the attacker, who was arrested, is among the seven injured.

There has been no immediate indication the attack has been linked to terrorism, a judicial official said.

The prosecutors' office is handling the investigation.
