Saudi Arabia's King Salman is paying for 200 Christchurch mosque attack survivors to fly to Mecca, Islam's holiest city.

They will travel to the Saudi Arabian city for the hajj, an annual Islamic pilgrimage, where muslims from all over the world gather.

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Islamic Affairs says the gesture is an effort to "confront and defeat terrorism."
