Jacinda Ardern is "changing the course of history" according to US actress Reese Witherspoon.
Ms Ardern has received praise for her empathy and leadership after the Christchurch terrorist attacks from many prominent figures and groups around the world, including Bernie Sanders and the UAE.
Witherspoon has also praised her leadership and quick action to change New Zealand's gun laws in a tweet today.
In the tweet she says, " Thinking about @jacindaardern today. This is a leader that truly deserves our attention. Her compassion, her respect for multiculturalism, her clear leadership, her swift action to create new legislation in #NewZealand. Changing the course of history. This is TRUE LEADERSHIP."
On March 22 Hillary Clinton praised the New Zealand Government's decision to ban military-style semi-automatic weapons.
