The Queen has been left devastated after her last corgi, Willow, died on Sunday.
Willow, who was almost 15, was euthanised at Windsor Castle after a battle with a cancer-related illness.
The corgi was the last from the 14th generation of corgis descended from Susan, who was an 18th birthday gift to the then-princess after she fell in love with the dog breed in 1933, aged seven.
"She has mourned every one of her corgis over the years, but she has been more upset about Willow's death than any of them," a source inside Buckingham Palace told the Daily Mail.
The monarch still has three dogs, corgi-daschund crosses Vulcan and Candy, and corgi Whisper, who was adopted last year.
