In this week’s edition of Pacific Update, 1 NEWS' Barbara Dreaver looks at an overloaded truck that collapsed a bridge in Papua New Guinea and Samoa remembers the arrival of a ship that ending up killing more than a fifth of the countries population.

She also looks at New Caledonia voting no for independence in the first of three referendums.
