Near 'cat'-astrophe averted after feline rescued from 18th floor of Sydney high-rise

A near catastrophe has been averted after a pet was rescued from a Sydney high-rise yesterday.

Abito, a five-year-old tabby, was in need of rescuing after becoming stuck outside the 18th floor of an apartment building in Sydney’s Olympic Park just after noon, Nine News reports.

A firefighter was lowered down the building to scoop up the frightened feline.

Abito was unharmed in the ordeal and has since been reunited with his owners.
