Miniature horse Digby training to be UK's first equine guide animal for the blind

Guide dogs have long proved themselves an invaluable help to the blind but a new species of guide animal is making its debut in Britain.

Digby the miniature guide horse is being put through his paces as he trains for his new life aiding a partially sighted person in London.

The 20-month-old has been getting in some practice, riding the train.

Digby's half way through a two year training programme where he regularly visits restaurants and shops to get used to busy environments.

He's even learnt to press a button at pedestrian crossings.
