Laura Puddy says, "you can't avoid being a style icon when you're a royal."
"I think whenever you are in the public-eye you're always going to have people wanting to copy your look," says the Style Editor of Heat Magazine.
All fashion-conscious eyes are currently set on the latest addition to the royal family, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and the maternity outfits she's wearing.
"Because she's so chic and so elegant and really rocking that pregnancy style, people always going to want to copy what you're wearing," says Puddy.
"I think what's great about Meghan is that she's still, even though she is wearing a lot of expensive clothing and a lot of designer labels, she still wears attainable outfits. So, a dress and a blazer, it's very easy to copy, you know, if you're on a budget."
While much of her wardrobe is accessible, there's one item some pregnant mums may not be willing to wear - high heels.
"Now not every pregnant woman can do this," says Puddy. "You know there are swollen ankles involved sometimes. However, she is still rocking that pointed court - that's one of her go to staples. We see in a lot of beige Manolo Blahniks for example - that's one of her favorite designers. But she's still doing a good two to three-inch heels, so very impressive I must say."
Once the royal baby is born, Puddy says the child is "definitely set to be a trendsetter" too.
"If you look at Princess Charlotte and Prince George, they've both had so many high street brands copying their looks," notes Puddy.
"They've been very traditionally dressed so far so it will be interesting to see how Prince Harry and Meghan style their little one. But yes, I think you can't avoid being a style icon really when you a royal."
