UFO sighting off the Irish coast: Listen to audio of pilots discussing 'very bright light'

November 13, 2018

The Irish Aviation Authority has begun an investigation after multiple airline pilots reported seeing bright-light UFOs moving at high speed off the southwest coast of Ireland on Friday.

The incident, which took place at 6.47am local time, was captured on air traffic control radio logs.

According to the BBC , a British Airways pilot made contact with Ireland's Shannon air traffic control to report a strange sighting and ask if there were any military exercises taking place in the area.

The controller replied to the pilot that there were no military exercises taking place, to which the pilot replied: "Okay, it was travelling so fast that you can no longer see it."

The pilot then told air traffic control that she witnessed "a very bright light" on the left side of the aircraft, which then "rapidly veered to the north at a very high speed".

A different pilot flying a Virgin plane also saw the UFO and said there appeared to be multiple objects all travelling in the same direction.

The second pilot speculated the bright lights may have been meteors entering the atmosphere.

One of the pilots said the speed of the object was "astronomical, it was like Mach 2".

"Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday 9 November of unusual air activity the IAA has filed a report," the Irish Aviation Authority said.

"This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process."
