Australia's Great Barrier Reef has suffered its third mass bleaching event in five years.

Warmer sea levels, especially last month, are thought to have caused huge coral loss across the world largest reef system, off the Queensland coast.

Two thirds of the reef was damaged by similar events in 2016 and 2017.

The reef system covers 2,300 kilometres and is a world heritage site.
