Google Map searches for the White House which brought up racist results have prompted an apology from Google.
Searches for "N***** house" and "N***** king" when focused on the Washington DC area return with the home of the US president Barack Obama.
The searches were first exposed by the Washington Post.
The Guardian says Google has now apologised for "some inappropriate results".
"We apologise for any offence this may have caused. Our teams are working to fix this issue quickly," a Google spokesperson said in a statement.
Google said it had been experiencing "escalated attacks to spam Google Maps over the past few month".
