Fiji records 115 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

116 new cases were recorded as well as the country’s fifth death from the virus.

Fiji’s Ministry of Health has recorded 115 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours.

A 49-year-old man has also died at Suva’s main hospital. He had been staying at the hospital for nearly a month, and was being tested for a serious underlying condition.

The Colonial War Memorial hospital cluster continues to rise with another eight cases recorded.

The vaccination rollout is picking up pace, with 43 per cent of Fijians over the age of 18 receiving their AstraZeneca jab.
