Duchess Meghan called 'fat lady' by woman during visit to animal welfare charity

The Duchess of Sussex was called "fat lady" by a woman during her visit to an animal rescue charity in London.

Duchess Meghan took it in her stride and laughed off the remark, replying, "I'll take it".

It was her first visit to animal rescue charity the Mayhew as a patron.

She showed off her baby bump in a figure-hugging Mama Fine Knit Dress by H & M and wore new shoes by Paul Andrew, the Coquette style in suede.

Duchess Meghan, due in April, met with staff, volunteers and beneficiaries to hear more about their various initiatives, from community engagement to international projects.

The Mayhew was established in 1886 and the Queen became patron in 1974.

The charity is entirely funded by public donations, and works on improving the lives of dogs, cats and people in communities both in London and internationally.
