Australia's RSPCA has slammed people who forced a quokka to smoke an e-cigarette on Rottnest Island off Perth's coast.
Video shows a woman holding a purple e-cigarette to the animal and forcing it down its throat.
The notoriously friendly animals are comfortable with humans, and it's likely this one thought it was being given food, Nine News reports.
"It's completely and utterly irresponsible and unacceptable for this poor defenceless, vulnerable animal to be subjected to that kind of cruelty," RSPCA WA's Hannah Dreaver said.
The organisation is calling for the culprits to come forward.
