Colorado police are in attendance at Columbine High School after receiving a threat.
A lockdown is in place at the school as well as a number of others in the area.
Police say they received a phone call from a man claiming to be hiding outside the school with a gun.
The area has been searched but police have not found anything.
Police say they received number of threats to Columbine High School.
The Jefferson County Sheriff says students will be released to their parents at 10.45am New Zealand time.
