Amazon cloud outage brings big headaches for websites

An ongoing outage of Amazon's cloud infrastructure is causing a number of internet services to be affected. 

Amazon S3 provides a web service interface for businesses to "store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web".

On the internet giant's web service health dashboard page,  the company says the "are working hard at repairing S3, believe we understand root cause, and are working on implementing what we believe will remediate the issue.

Amazon's S3 servers are experiencing "high error rates".

New Zealand based software company Xero tweeted that it is affected by the outage.

Mourners pay their respects at Tonga's dearly loved Queen Mother's funeral service

Large crowds have gathered in Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa to farewell the kingdom's much loved Queen Mother who died last month.

Mourner's lined the streets this morning as the The Queen Mother, Halaevalu Mata'aho's, casket was taken from the Royal Palace to her funeral service.

The Queen Mother will be laid to rest at the Royal Tomb.

As the 90-year-old matriarch lay inside the palace last night, gospel singing rang out from a marquee in the palace grounds where a large crowd gathered for the vigil.

Today up to 250 men carried the heavy platform from the Royal Palace to the tombs.

The Queen Mother died in Auckland on Sunday, February 19 and her body was yesterday flown by RNZAF Hercules home to Tonga.

Stunning footage shows Tongan school children paying the ultimate respect to their Queen Mother, Halaevalu Mata'aho.

Hundreds of children sit in the pouring rain, heads bowed, as the Queen Mother's body is carried to her resting place.

Loop Pacific reported many of the school children have been waiting three hours, stretched along the 20 kilometre journey from the airport to Tonga's capital, Nuku'alofa.

The Queen Mother left from Auckland this morning at 9.25am, where a group of Tongans sang mournfully as her body was carried onto the plane.

Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata'aho died in Auckland last night at the age of 90, having already lost her husband and son, who were both Kings. Source: 1 NEWS

She will be interred at the Royal Tombs Mala'ekkula on Wednesday.
