North Island, becoming cloudy and rain spreading to most places, but remaining dry about Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. South Island, rain, with heavy falls, in the west, easing later, and clearing in Fiordland, rain at times elsewhere, mainly in the south.

Sunday

North Island, rain easing to scattered showers, but rain in the southwest again later. South Island, Occasional rain in most places, but clearing in the south.

Monday

North Island, rain spreading to most places, but clearing from Wanganui to Wellington and Wairarapa. South Island, rain clearing in the north and west, rain or drizzle at times in the east, cloudy periods with patchy drizzle in the south.

Chatham Islands

Drizzle developing on Saturday and northerlies freshening. A change to southerlies and showers on Sunday. Showery southerlies on Monday.

Northland, northern Auckland and eastern Coromandel Fine and cloudy periods. Isolated showers in the Far North.
