North Island, rain clearing early, then becoming fine in the east but a few showers lingering in the west. South Island, fine, apart from showers in the west and early rain in the north.

Thursday

North Island, showers or rain for most. South Island, periods of rain in the west and north, with snow to 1200 metres. Cloudy periods elsewhere.

Friday

North Island, showers or rain for most. South Island, rain in the west, clearing. Showers developing in the east with snow lowering to 600 metres.

Chatham Islands

Cloudy periods, then showers developing on Wednesday, turning to rain Friday. Northerlies developing Tuesday, strong for a time Wednesday and Friday.

Northland

Rain, easing to isolated showers tonight.

Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula

Mainly fine, but isolated showers over northern Auckland and eastern Coromandel.
