The third-seeded pair beat Anastasia Rodionova of Australia and Austrian Oliver Marach 6-1 7-6 (8-6) in a shade over 70 minutes.

They will meet Wimbledon champions Martina Hingis and Jamie Murray in the final after they beat Coco Vandeweghe and Horia Tecau 6-4 7-6 in the other semi-final.

Venus and American partner Ryan Harrison, who won the French Open doubles title in May, were upset 6-3 6-3 in the opening round of the US Open by French pairing Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Martin.
