'You want to try and preserve it' – All Blacks out to maintain unbeaten status over Scotland

November 18, 2017

New Zealand have never been defeated by Scotland in a Test match.

All Blacks captain Kieran Read is hoping his side can maintain their unbeaten record against Scotland, when the two sides meet at Murrayfield tomorrow morning.

Since the two sides first played one another in the 1905 season, New Zealand and Scotland have faced off in 30 Test matches, with the All Blacks winning 28 and drawing two.

Ahead of tomorrow morning's clash, Scotland will be hungrier than ever to claim their first ever win over the world champions, something Read is hoping to avoid.

"It's one of those ones for us, you want to try and preserve it as much as you can," Read said.

"If we turn up and show the respect to the Scottish team that they deserve, the performance will hopefully show it tomorrow."

"As an All Blacks team, it doesn't matter who we play - we want to go out there and win."
