Are you happy the All Blacks lost? Breakfast host Hayley Holt says Springboks' upset win was good for sport

Are you happy the All Blacks lost to South Africa over the weekend? That’s the question TVNZ1’s Breakfast is asking this morning.

It was the upset no one was picking, but the Springboks’ heroic effort and an uncharacteristically bumbling effort from the All Blacks meant South Africa triumphed 36-34.

Breakfast host Hayley Holt is one who is delighted by South Africa’s first win in New Zealand since 2009, saying it is good for the sport.

“I think the All Blacks winning constantly is bad for the sport, we need the international teams to be able to beat our team,” she said.

“Otherwise, they’re going to look away and money is going to drain away from the game, we need rugby to be strong.”
