'We're on track' – Steve Hansen confident in All Blacks' World Cup lead-in

November 16, 2018

Less than 12 months from Japan 2019, the All Blacks coach says all is good.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen is confident everything is in place for a third straight Rugby World Cup win, saying that his side are on the right track.

Fronting media in Dublin ahead of the All Blacks' clash with Ireland this weekend, Hansen was asked about the prospects of next year's World Cup in Japan, with the New Zealand coach stating he was content with his side's position.

"[We're] pretty similar to where we were in 2014," Hansen began.

"We had a year that everyone said wasn't great, we still managed to win a lot of games, and we're doing the same thing this year.

"We're doing the same thing this year. We're finding out a lot about ourselves, about our selections, about how we want to play the games.

"From a Rugby World Cup point of view, we're on track."
