'We know they can play' – All Blacks not taking wounded Springboks lightly, says Ian Foster

September 11, 2018

Off the back of two straight losses, the All Blacks aren't expecting a Wellington walkover.

Despite the Springboks coming off back to back losses heading into Saturday's clash with the All Blacks in Wellington, assistant coach Ian Foster says he expects a tough game from New Zealand's traditional rivals.

After a slump in form in this year's Rugby Championship, resulting in back to back away defeats to both Argentina and Australia, the Springboks are in crisis mode heading into Saturday's clash, with coach Rassie Erasmus even suggesting that his job is on the line.

Addressing media in the capital today though, Foster said that the All Blacks won't be taking their opposition lightly.

"Our whole mindset when we're preparing is based on an opposition who can play at their best," he said.

"We know that they're a very good team. We saw them play in June and beat a very good England team 2-1.

"We know they can play."
