Watch: Wellington's Jackson Garden-Bachop seals win over Harbour with intercept try

September 9, 2018

Wellington have shaken off their shock loss to Waikato to secure a 35-23 win over North Harbour at Westpac Stadium this afternoon.

After a tightly-contested first 50 minutes in the match, the hosts pulled away late with first-five Jackson Garden-Bachop sealing the match with an intercept try in the final five minutes.

The scores were locked at 23-23 with 24 minutes to go but Wellington's experienced players stepped up with Ben Lam and Wes Goosen combining for a stellar try down the right wing to push the score to 28-23.

Garden-Bachop then ended North Harbour's comeback hopes five minutes later with an intercept 30m from the visitors' line which he ran under the posts to push the score to 35-23.

The win puts Wellington second in the Premiership with three wins from five matches while North Harbour drop to the bottom of the same division on two wins from four matches.
