Victor Vito has shown off his pace in the open field in his latest Top 14 match in France, finishing off a clever cross kick try for La Rochelle.
The former Hurricanes and All Blacks loosie crossed over the line in the 28th minute of his club's clash with Clermont after former Blues playmaker Ihaia West kicked for the corner.
The kick was claimed by Arthur Retiere who then fed the ball back inside to Vito, with the 31-year-old putting on the afterburners to beat the disorganised Clermont defence and score.
Despite the sublime play, third-placed La Rochelle were comfortably beaten by table-toppers Clermont 44-19.
Clermont hold a three-point lead over Toulon in the standings after 14 rounds, with La Rochelle a further seven points back.
