The All Blacks have upped the ante with a gruelling heavy weights training session today as they prepare for their first Test against the British and Irish Lions this weekend.
Players hit the gym for a sweat session after dismantling Samoa 78-0 last Friday at Eden Park.
But after seeing the Lions clinically dismantle a star-studded Maori All Blacks team 32-10 in Rotorua on Saturday, the players know this weekend's game back at Eden Park will be completely different.
"We have to be better than we've ever been before," Brodie Retallick said at a press conference today.
"It's going to be pretty intense."
The All Blacks play the Lions at 7.30pm on Saturday.
