Auckland are on the verge of being relegated to the Mitre 10 Cup Championship division, needing an important win over Canterbury tomorrow night to keep themselves in the top tier competition next year.
Auckland's enforcer Akira Ioane admitted at today's media session that there were some players in the team that weren't going the extra mile in training.
"There are boys that work hard and do work outside of training but there are some boys that don't," said Ioane.
"That's just how they have I guess come through with their career."
Ioane was named in the All Blacks' extended training squad this year and has been in and out of the Auckland camp.
"I'm sure that it will change, but that is just them for now and moving on they'll probably get a boot up the bum to start doing more or just I guess start doing the little things right."
Auckland sit second to bottom of the Mitre 10 Cup Premiership ladder and are two points ahead of last placed Waikato.
