Watch: A new position for Rieko? Youngest Ioane trained at centre before clash with Springboks

October 8, 2017

The All Blacks' winger says he’s happy to play anywhere for his country.

All Blacks star Rieko Ioane has revealed that his days on the left wing may be numbered, saying that he trained at centre in the lead up to his side's 25-24 win over South Africa in Cape Town.

Ioane, 20, has shone on the flank for the All Blacks in 2017, scoring in nearly every game against both the British and Irish Lions, as well as the Rugby Championship.

However, the youngster has played the majority of his youth and provincial career in the number 13 jersey, suggesting his All Blacks career could shift the same way.

"I was training at outside centre," Ioane said after the match.

"It would have been good to have a run, but I'm not disappointed at all."

He also said that he wasn't too fussy about where he plays, so long as he's picked in the first place.

"I'm not too fussed, I'm happy enough to be picked in the team."

"If I go prop, I'll go prop. If I go centre, I'll go centre."
