The All Blacks coach was full of praise for the young Chiefs halfback, but didn’t attempt to pronounce his name.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen was full of praise for Chiefs halfback Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, but wasn’t attempting to pronounce the youngster’s name.

Hansen cut short a question about including Tahuriorangi in the All Blacks’ North Island foundation day today.

“It’s a lot easier to say triple-T,” a chuckling Hansen said.

While the All Blacks coach wasn’t keen to pronounce Tahuriorangi’s name, he certainly gushed about the man and his playing style.

“Well, he’s playing well, he’s a lovely passer of the ball, he’s got a running game, we just felt we would like to see a little bit more of him,”

The Chiefs halfback was given the warmest of welcomes by his Hurricanes counterpart as he arrived for the All Blacks’ North Island foundation day.

"The Chiefs have got the bye so Coops (Chiefs coach Colin Cooper) was happy enough for us to bring him down and we took the opportunity to do that and he’s a nice young man.”
