Watch: All Blacks rookie Shannon Frizell stars with cheeky flick offload in Tasman's game-clinching try

September 1, 2018

Tasman loose forward Shannon Frizell has shown some of the skills he's picked up from the All Blacks in this evening's Mitre 10 Cup win against North Harbour.

The one-cap All Black starred in a late try that sealed the 32-20 win, handling the ball twice before setting up halfback Finlay Christie to score.

Frizell ran for solid metres down the right wing in space before linking up with winger Tima Faingaanuku.

Faingaanuku returned the ball to Frizell with 10 metres to go but as the No.8 was tackled he managed to locate Christie and executed a perfect flick offload as he was bundled into touch. Christie ran the final five metres to score and push the lead to 32-20 with 11 minutes to go.

It capped off a solid performance for Frizell where he scored as well, finishing off a series of pick-and-go by the Mako with his own drive at the line.
