Warriors confirm signing of Kodi Nikorima, to join club this season

May 3, 2019

Stephen Kearney says the club wants to bring Nikorima to Auckland for 2020, but won’t speak about a potential mid-season transfer.

The Warriors NRL club have confirmed the signing of half Kodi Nikorima from Brisbane.

The worst-kept secret in league was announced a short time ago, with the 25-year-old Kiwis international agreeing to move to Mt Smart immediately.

It's unlikely he will play in Sunday's home clash with the Knights, instead eyeing a debut against the Dragons in Sydney next weekend.

Gerard Beale and Ken Maumalo said they only know about the Brisbane playmaker’s potential move from social media.

The Warriors have struggled to fill the void left by Shaun Johnson, with Chanel Harris-Tavita filling his spot in recent weeks, with mixed results.

Nikorima has signed until the end of 2021.

He has played 86 first grade games.
