Wallabies to fall to lowest world ranking after shock loss to Argentina

September 17, 2018

The Wallabies' weekend will go from bad to worse, with Michael Cheika's men about to plummet to their lowest World Rugby ranking.

The 23-19 defeat to Argentina on Saturday night will see Australia fall to seventh place in the latest world standings, with South Africa's stunning Wellington win seeing them rise from sixth to fifth.

Scotland will bridge the gap in between the two Southern Hemisphere sides in sixth spot, with the Wallabies expected to fall to their worst ranking.

Since the rankings' inception in 2003, the Wallabies have never dropped below sixth spot, although having won just two of their last nine games, things could be about to get a whole lot worse for Michael Cheika's men.

World Rugby's latest rankings will be revealed later today.
