The coach of the 2017 British and Irish Lions team Warren Gatland, has given his first New Zealand TV interview to Seven Sharp's Emma Keeling, where he opens up about the tour he said he hated.
Speaking in London to promote his new book, A Diary of the Tour, Gatland covered all the subjects rugby fans had been dying to know, including his treatment by Kiwi media and what happened after the full-time whistle blew on the controversial drawn series.
When questioned about a story run in the NZ Herald claiming Gatland would be targetting his son Bryn Gatland during the Lions' game against the NZ Barbarians, Gatland was less than impressed.
"I was disgusted by that headline I thought it was out of order, to think that a father would go after his family, when it was one of our proudest moments in both of our rugby careers," Gatland told Seven Sharp.
