'They've got threats across the board' – Crusaders not taking Hurricanes lightly

June 28, 2019

The two sides will meet for the third time this season in tomorrow night's Super Rugby semi-final.

The Crusaders won't be resting on their laurels in tomorrow night's Super Rugby semi-final with the Hurricanes, despite having beaten their local rivals twice already this season.

Having beaten the Hurricanes 38-22 in Christchurch in February, and 32-8 in Wellington in March, the Crusaders come into tomorrow night's all-Kiwi semi-final with the wood over their opponents.

However, despite their recent successes against the Hurricanes, captain Sam Whitelock insists that his side aren't getting ahead of themselves in their quest for a third straight title.

"Whatever you've done throughout the year is critical," Whitelock told media. "Looking at them, but also ourselves.

"They've got threats right across the board, you can name them from 1-15 - but also their bench.

"For us, making sure that when we play we hopefully nullify their strengths and put them under pressure. But they're classy players, they're good for a reason - they get that every week.

"Hopefully our plans will nullify that."

The Crusaders host the Hurricanes tomorrow night in Christchurch.
