'They're not unbeatable' – Brumbies skipper denies suggestion New Zealand rugby is too strong

Brumbies captain Sam Carter has shut down any suggestion of a gulf between Australian and New Zealand rugby, after his side's 35-16 Super Rugby quarter-final loss in Canberra last night.

Sam Carter refuted the idea that Australian rugby were too far behind after the 35-16 loss to the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes' win sees New Zealand register their 26th win from 26 games against Australian opposition in 2017, although Carter is certain that Kiwi teams do have weaknesses.

"As we saw in the first half, they're not unbeatable," Carter said.

"The margin for error is so fine, if we keep the pressure on for 80 minutes and play the way we did in the first half, we can beat them."
