Sopoaga claims No. 10, Naholo earns start on the wing as All Blacks make four changes for final Bledisloe Test

October 19, 2017

The All Blacks have made four changes to their line up from their win over the Springboks two weeks ago including Lima Sopoaga in at first-five in the final Bledisloe Cup Test against the Wallabies at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday.

Sopoaga is in the starting XV replacing Beauden Barrett who suffered a concussion in the 25-24 win in Cape Town.

Waisake Naholo has been named on the right wing, replacing Nehe Milner-Skudder who suffered a shoulder injury against the Springboks.

The other two changes come on the bench with TJ Perenara at reserve halfback while Anton Lienert-Brown comes in at cover for the backs.

Meanwhile, Brodie Retallick remains absent from the squad, after he and his partner suffered a family tragedy - Scott Barrett again takes his place in his absence.

"Our goal is to never be satisfied at where we're at, and that means it's greater than just the outcome," said All Blacks coach Steve Hansen.

"It's about how we play, individually and collectively as a unit. We're always striving to get better every game and this week is no different..

"As always, to do that, our preparation has to be spot on and bone deep. It's an individual focus for each player.

"The job of the team management is to facilitate a training week which provides them with clarity and the right amount of intensity so that they can arrive on Saturday ready to hum."

The All Blacks flanker re-signed with New Zealand Rugby through to 2021.

Sam Cane, who signed a contract extension with New Zealand Rugby until 2021 earlier this week, will also get to celebrate his 50th Test starting at No. 7.

He's joined by Liam Squire on the other side of the scrum with Matt Todd the back up off the bench.

"It'll be another great opportunity for this young team to show what they've learnt throughout the year and playing at Suncorp Stadium will be another fantastic learning experience for them all," Hansen said

"It's a great ground with a lot of tradition and there'll be huge support for the All Blacks, which we're looking forward to."

The match between the All Blacks and Australia kicks off at 10pm NZT on Saturday.
