The All Blacks' World Cup squad appears to have been struck by another injury, with Sonny Billi Williams reportedly under an injury cloud.

Fresh from loose forward Luke Jacobson being sent home with concussion like symptoms, the All Blacks' 31-man squad has again seen a casualty, this time coming in the form of the 34-year-old midfielder, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Citing former World Cup commentator Hamish McKay, who spoke to Newstalk ZB this morning, Williams' status at the World Cup is now in serious doubt, having had his Super Rugby season and Rugby Championship campaign ruined by injuries.

"I trust my source absolutely. Watch this space," McKay told Newstalk ZB's Martin Devlin.

"It's more than an injury watch day … it's a day-to-day proposition. I think we're going to hear something break."

"How long before Ngani Lauampe is on the plane?"

Hurricanes and Manawatu second-five Ngani Laumape is the most likely replacement, initially having been considered unlucky to miss out on the first naming of Hansen's 31-man squad.
